Description:

SCOPE OF SERVICES:
We are requesting bids for a glass and glazing waterproofing project at the North Okaloosa County
Administration Building, Buddy Brackin Building, located in Crestview Florida. The staff has observed that
the glass and glazing system in place is suspected as a source of leaks onto the building interior finishes. The
building is currently 100% occupied by Administration offices, Tax Collector offices, and County operating
departments Monday through Friday from approximately 6:00 AM until 9:00 PM. This is not a construction
site, rather an operating facility with all utilities servicing essential County operations.
WET TEST:
Contractor shall perform a wet test of the glass and glazing system that is in place on the front elevation facing
N. Wilson St., both north and south sets of storefronts. The south side is 2 levels while the north side is 3 levels
of storefront glass. A wet test shall also be performed on a third storefront system on the west side or rear of the
building. This is 3 levels of glass which is on the rear elevation facing a parking lot and emergency generator.
Wet test results shall be recorded and submitted to Okaloosa County Facilities Maintenance for future reference
and for contractor to address any and all issues involving leaks prior to installing the new glass and glazing
systems. Accessing the building interior for leak investigation of the building during the wet test scope of work
shall require an Okaloosa County Facilities Management escort.
DEMOLITION:
Contractor shall remove and dispose of the existing system in place allowing for the installation of the new
storefront system. Any items identified at the wet test stage of the project shall be addressed prior to installing
the new glass and glazing system. All permits and exterior make safe guarding shall be the responsibility of the
Contractor. Okaloosa County Facility Maintenance will erect, and upon completion of the project demolish,
interior dust walls and make safe guarding and signage for interior offices. Demolition of the existing glass and
glazing system will only occur on sections that can be reinstalled on the same day.
INSTALLATION OF THE NEW GLASS AND GLAZING SYSTEM:
Contractor shall furnish and install new storefront system of glass and glazing. The glass shall be 1” bronze
tempered insulated low-e glass with bronze framing manufactured and installed to meet Code. Contractor shall
furnish all tools material and equipment for the project and shall work continuously during normal working
hours on the project with no work stoppage other than prohibitive weather events. Contractor shall not use the
interior of the building beyond the interior erected dust walls for any reason other than what is strictly related to
the demolition or installation of the new system. Any needs to access the building interior will require an
Okaloosa County Facilities Management team member escort.
GENERAL CONDITIONS:
Contractor shall leave the work area in a clean safe and presentable manner at the end of each day. Contractor is
responsible for all safety requirements on the building exterior. Contractor will carry insurance based on the
General Insurance Section within the ITB. Contractor is responsible for all tools, supplies and equipment to
complete the project. Bids shall include a preliminary and estimated information including lead times on
materials and expected duration of the demolition and reinstallation of the glazing system.
PAYMENT SCHEDULE:
Applications for payment will be accepted upon completion of the wet test and submitted wet test results report.
Applications for payment will be accepted at 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% of the project.
TERM OF CONTRACT - The contract term shall be completed within ninety (90) days from issuance of
Purchase Order.
