Question: Who is the current vendor providing these services and at what unit cost is the County paying for these services (not including postage)?

Response: American Solutions for Business...there is a $50.00 minimum charge per file or run. Question: Since the vehicle notices are required to be mailed the same day the data is processed, when can the vendor expect to receive the data file?

Response: Typically within the first five days of the month.

Question: References - do you require the vendor to have current references in South Carolina?

Response: South Carolina references are preferable; however, they are not necessary.

Question: Prototype - you mention data layout/format and definition of data elements and what exactly needs to be shown on the prototype. Can you please clarify where these documents are, or are you referring to the samples provided?

Response: This is in reference to the samples. We are requesting samples be sent with your proposal. The samples included in the RFP are ones we currently use.

Question: What types of samples are you requesting to be sent with the RFP? Do you want us to submit samples of similar jobs to the county? Or, for us to create a mock-up sample of Dorchester's tax bills would resemble? Without seeing actual data the mock-up samples could be deceiving. The we receive drives the out come of the statement. If the county is requesting a "prototype" statement it would be good to get raw sample data.

Question: Can you please clarify a little further regarding what is needed for the "Prototype" detailed in the evaluation section? Is the County looking for an actual mock-up created that is similar to the current samples, or is the County looking for samples of other work (similar to spec) that the vendor currently handles?

Question: Is there a service not being provided to the you by your current vendor that you would like? If so, what would that service be?

Response: Our current vendor is not lacking in any service. In order to comply with our county’s procurement ordinance, this service has to be publicly, competitively solicited.

Response: No, we've had great experience with timely mailing.
