Description: SCOPE OF WORK
The City of Carlsbad is seeking proposals for Structural Demolition and Debris Removal Services. These services are generally performed in response to the City Council’s actions to condemn property unsuitable for habitation, or that constitute a health and safety concern.
New Mexico Law allows the Governing Body of municipalities to condemn and order the removal of structures, both residential and commercial, which are dilapidated, unsafe or which pose a hazard to the health, safety and welfare of the community. If the owners of the property in question fail to comply with the directives of the Governing Body, State Law empowers the City or its designee to enter upon the property and effect the removal of the condemned structures or items. In lieu of utilizing City personnel and equipment, the City of Carlsbad seeks to engage the services of a qualified business to perform such demolition and removal services as become necessary from time to time. Bids are being requested for these services. Once approved by the City Council, the City and the successful bidder would enter into a general contract for the removal of specific properties on an as needed basis.
