Description: The Pensacola Beach Master Plan - Access Roadway Improvements Project is a roadway upgrade project located on Pensacola Beach.  The project includes demolition and debris removal, utility relocation, shifting the alignment of a portion of Pensacola Beach Boulevard to the west, extending and resurfacing the existing service roadway from Bob Sikes Bridge to the Quietwater Beach Restrooms, driveway relocation, construction of new improved parking at Quietwater Beach, extension of the existing multi-use path, stormwater runoff improvements, pedestrian access, the relocation of lighting and transformers within the right-of-way, and the milling and resurfacing of a portion of Pensacola Beach Boulevard.

A.   Clarifications

 

·         Pay item 1-20 “SP 12.5 Overbuild – Varying Depth (Sta. 38+40 to 45+98)” includes an area of approximately 2700 SY and requires buildup (Leveling) over that area of approximately 1.5 feet (Estimated Average depth) over the existing asphalt. 

·         Pay Item G-8 “Remove and Replace Irrigation System” bid as an allowance of $10,000 as shown on the revised bid form.

·         Typical Sections 6 and 7 annotate “1-1/2” of Type SP 12.5 Asphalt” on Pensacola Beach Boulevard.  This is a scriveners error, and should be 2” of Type SP 12.5 Asphalt as is typical of the other sections and provided for in Pay Item 1-18.

·         Pay Item 1-30 “Clean White Sand Fill (Per Escambia County LDC)” is independent of “Earthwork” and intended for the following instances:

o   Unsuitable materials required to be removed by the Escambia County LDC are encountered and need to be replaced

o   LDC approved Material is needed to establish desired grades on or near the sandy beach areas of the project.
