Description:
Sealed bids for the construction of a new North Fire
Station will be received by the City of Laurinburg at the office of the General
Services Director, City Hall, 303 W. Church Street, Room 242, Laurinburg, NC, until
2:00 P.M. local time on Tuesday, December 21, 2021. Bids will be thereafter publicly opened in
the Council Chambers of City Hall, Room 221, 303 W. Church Street, Laurinburg,
NC 28352. Precautions for COVID-19 will
be in place and based upon the current direction from state officials at the
time of bid opening.
The project consists of building a new North Fire
Station for the City of Laurinburg. This
is to replace the existing North Fire Station that has been damaged by
flooding. The new fire station will be a
pre-engineered building with metal siding and a metal roof. The building will have three (3) apparatus
bays, a kitchen, bathrooms, a day room, a tool room, and a training room. There are several alternatives that takes the
apparatus bays from three (3) to five (5) and finishes some of the interior
space into separate spaces versus a large common space.
Bids will be received for a single prime contract with
all trades. The architect for this
project is Creech & Associates, 1000 W. Morehead St, Suite 120, Charlotte,
NC 28208. Electronic bid documents may

A mandatory Pre-Bid Conference for all bidders will be
held at the City of Laurinburg City Hall (Room 221) on Thursday, December 2, 2021
at 10:00 A.M., local time. Prospective
bidders are required to attend. Please
adhere to current COVID-19 protocols at the time of the conference. After the Pre-Bid Conference, the owner and
architect will drive to the project site where bidders can review the site
conditions. The project site is at 17501
Aberdeen Rd, Laurinburg, NC.
Bid bond/bid security of 5% shall be required with the
submittal of bids. Performance and
payment bonds will be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and
NC General Statutes. Insurance in a form
acceptable to the Owner will be required of the successful bidder.
