for the Project known as:

SPALDING COUNTY LOCAL MAINTENANCE AND

IMPROVEMENT GRANT RESURFACING PROJECT 2021

at which time and place the proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud.  Proposals received after the designated time will not be considered.  The OWNER of the project is SPALDING COUNTY.

The approximate extent and character of the Work is generally described as follows:

Asphalt overlay and striping of approximately 6.1 miles of roadway with patching and leveling.

Prospective Bidders can obtain a complete set of bidding documents on the Spalding County website, www.spaldingcounty.com, or by contacting Terri Bass, Purchasing Department, via email at tbass@spaldingcounty.com.

A pre-bid meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at 11:00AM in Room 108 of the Spalding County Annex building, 119 E. Solomon Street, Griffin, GA 30223.  Although attendance at the pre-bid meeting is not mandatory, all interested parties are strongly urged to attend, as important requirements will be discussed and attendance is part of the evaluation criteria. 

The time allowed for completion of the project is 120 days.

Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond completed on the attached Bid Bond Form with good and sufficient surety or sureties approved by the OWNER for faithful acceptance of the contract, payable to, in favor of, and for the protection of the OWNER in an amount equivalent to five (5%) of the total amount payable by the terms of the contract, in lieu thereof, in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, or cash in equal amount.

Performance and Payment Bonds, each in an amount at least equal to 110 percent of the contract amount, and a Certification of Insurance will be required. 

All Bids will remain subject to acceptance for ninety days after the day of the Bid opening, but OWNER may, in its sole discretion, release any Bid and return the Bid security prior to that date.

The OWNER reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive formalities and re-advertise.
