Description:

The purpose of this solicitation is to establish a contract for ditch cleaning requiring the use of a long stick and related services in conjunction with the County’s requirements. This work shall take place within the rights of way or easements of Okeechobee County on an as needed basis. Ditch cleaning encompasses the removal of vegetation and in some cases the excavation of excess materials to the specified depth, supplying and installing sod in limited  areas designated by the County where sod is desired, the removal of all debris created by this operation, and other services related to this operation. The work shall comply with all specifications within this proposal.

The Contractor will be responsible for setting up their own Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) in accordance with the applicable F.D.O.T Index 600 series.  The Contractor will be responsible for having all necessary equipment and flaggers in place on the project before the work commences.  Payment for MOT is incidental to the line items.  Lane closure requests must be submitted by the Contractor and approved by the County prior to commencing the work.  Lane closures may be restricted on certain roads during peak hours.

The Contractor will provide any required hauling of overburden from the ditch excavation. All work must be initiated at the project location designated by the County within 5 working days of the request.
