Question 1
Posted: 2/15/2023
Question: Good afternoon, We are reviewing the recent bid for bulk deicing salt and have a few questions. We received the yearly estimated volume of salt by location, which is greatly appreciated, of the estimated yearly volume is it possible to provide us with expected volume needed through April 15, 2023. This new estimated volume of salt will help us to plan accordingly. The 2023 fall volume if I am correct will be balance of the total 2023 season? I may have a few other questions for you but thanks in advance for your help. Response: The current contract doesn’t expire until March 17th of 2023; Jackson County will likely not be purchasing any salt between then and April of 2023.

Question 3
Posted: 2/16/2023
Question: The total amount of bulk deicing salt is approximately 24,000 standard tons would the County guarantee taking 80% of the salt? Corrigan Environmental Solutions
Response: Calhoun County Road Department and Jackson County will not guarantee any percentage of salt to be purchased under the RFB. Our winters vary too much and that’s why we will only give an average yearly usage and not guarantee any amount that we will purchase.
