Description: The Owner will receive bids for the construction of a Nature Center shelter and storage facility (the "Work"). The Work will include: site clearing and excavation, selective demolition, concrete, steel, carpentry, windows and doors, painting and staining, exterior siding and trim, asphalt shingle roofing, site improvements, asphalt and granular paving, bridge crossing, nature trail installation and plantings.
Owner reserves the right to to let the contract for the Project to the lowest responsible bidder in conformance with Illinois State Law.
Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development Grant Program (OSLAD): This project is being financed, in part, with funds from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources; Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development grant program.
Minority Business Participation (MBE): Minority business firms are encouraged to submit bids on the project and bidders are encouraged to utilize minority businesses as sub-contractors, suppliers and for services related to the construction work.

Pre-Bid Meeting Details: A pre-bid meeting will be held at Kendall County Forest Preserve District Offices, 110 W. Madison Street, Yorkville, IL 60560 at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2024. Prospective bidders are requested to attend.
