Question 1

Posted: 11/19/2020

Question: Donald with Central Pipe rehab would like to know if you will accept alternate to the Spray on Liner such as slip lining with HDPE pipe or Duromax pipe and the back grout annular spacing.

Response: Please bid as specified in the document. However, bidders may include as a supplement attachment, alternate solutions with add/deduct pricing.

Question 2

Posted: 11/20/2020

Question: The current specification requires 3" of shotcrete, possibly reducing the hydraulic capacity of the pipe more than necessary. Will the Owner please consider the use of spray geopolymer to rehab these pipes at a minimum thickness of 1.0" (verified by P.E.)? This application will not require reinforcing wire and will provide 28 day compressive strengths of 8,000 psi.

Response: Please bid as specified in the document. However, bidders may include as a supplement attachment, alternate solutions with add/deduct pricing.

Question 3

Posted: 11/20/2020

Question: The website says bids are due 12/22/20 but the documents say 12/2/20. Will the Owner please clarify?

Response: Thank you for bringing that to the City's attention. I went and made the correction. The bid opening is 12/2/20 at 9:00 am.

Question 4

Posted: 11/20/2020

Question: Is there a deadline for questions due?

Response: Technical question deadline is November 30th so we can turn around and get the answers back to you. Questions are available up until bid opening on Dec 2nd regarding the process.

Question 5

Posted: 11/20/2020

Question: Will there be a bid bond required for this job? If so, at what amount/percent?

Response: There will NOT be a bid bond required for this job.

Question 6

Posted: 11/20/2020

Question: Will the Owner/Engineer consider allowing cured-in-place pipe as an alternate to spin cast? A recent CIPP project was just completed on a storm system in Woodstock for Steve Dobson at Cherokee County and we feel this is a good application for this project as well.

Response: Please bid as specified in the document. However, bidders may include as a supplement attachment, alternate solutions with add/deduct pricing.

Question 7

Posted: 11/23/2020

Question: How can I obtain a Plan Holders list?

Response: There is no plan holders list. However, a list of vendors that were notified of the bid is available.
