Question 1

Posted: 8/2/2024

Question: How many unique job titles will be included in the study for each district?

Response: Districts will categorize job titles into major job categories. Post-COVID School Districts are competing with non-school positions to include non-teacher salaried middle management positions (degreed & non-degreed), hourly administrative assistants (secretaries non-degreed), custodial, nonunion skilled craftsmen, childcare workers, office and building aides. Details can be shared during interviews with consultants who offered suggestions.

Question 2

Posted: 8/2/2024

Question: Does each District have access to EdPlus survey data for public school district comparisons?

Response: Yes, but we do not want that data to be used as the basis for this benchmarking. Each district has access to Ed Plus information and performs internal comparisons on an annual basis. The intent of this study is to compare with non-school similar positions/job description benchmarks within the St. Louis Metro. Post-COVID School Districts are competing with non-school positions to include non-teacher salaried middle management positions (degreed & non-degreed), hourly administrative assistants (secretaries non-degreed), custodial, nonunion skilled craftsmen, childcare workers, office and building aides.

Question 3

Posted: 8/2/2024

Question: In the event that all three Districts choose the same consultant, is there a desire to conduct the projects as one cohesive project, three very distinct separate projects, or is it at the discretion of the consultant as to how to approach? Please elaborate as much as possible.

Response: The thought was one cohesive project, as all three districts have the same categories of support staff, although they have different job descriptions. This study is not a rewrite of job descriptions but a staff category wage review. The consultant is welcome to make suggestions on how to approach it.

Question 4

Posted: 8/2/2024

Question: Will this study include an analysis of "internal equity" regarding compensation? “Internal equity” in compensation analysis refers to the fairness and consistency in pay among employees within the client organization, thus answering the question "why is one job classification paid more, less, or the same as another job classification within an organization's compensation structure. This type of analysis ensures that employees with similar job roles, skills, and experience levels are compensated in a comparable manner, without discrimination based on personal characteristics such as gender, race, or age.

Response: Internal equity will not be addressed in this study. Districts will categorize school district job titles into major job categories. Post-COVID School Districts are competing with non-school positions to include non-teacher salaried middle management positions (degreed & non-degreed), hourly administrative assistants (secretaries non-degreed), custodial, nonunion skilled craftsmen, childcare workers, office and building aides etc...

Question 5

Posted: 8/2/2024

Question: Will this study include an analysis of days worked, employer-paid leave, and/or employer-paid benefits?

Response: Days worked may be a part of the salaried compensation study as in impacts overall pay. Benefits will not be part of the study. Hourly rates and paid salary is the focus.
