Project Description

The project involves the complete relocation of the current Production Studio located in lower Bldg. 14 to its new location in Bldg. 4. Project consists of not only moving existing equipment and furniture, but also the replacement/upgrading of production equipment which is part of this project. The new production equipment will be paid for out of the project budget as FF&E and provided by the owner. Installation of FF&E equipment is part of the scope of the project. The space in Bldg. 4 will require selective demolition, electrical upgrades, lighting upgrades to college standards, interior finishes, furniture, production studio lighting, etc. A major aspect of this project is providing the necessary soundproofing requirements to allow for multimedia productions without interference from outside sources. The project is a follow on to one already awarded to renovate existing spaces in Bldg. 4. Current awarded project will only provide a minimal touch to the area the production studio is to be located. This projects scope is to develop the area selected for the studio to be incorporated into the first phase project as one seamless center.

The selected design team will have experience in the design & construction administration of similar renovation/replacement projects. Special importance to be in production studio soundproofing. Important elements in the selection process will be experience in ensuring protection of buildings and surrounding campus property. The firms must have experience in the complete design and monitoring of construction, to ensure work meets all requirements and to ensure subsequent warranties.  

Scope of Service 
The selected A/E, as a portion of its required Scope of Services and prior to submitting its proposals, will discuss and clarify with the Owner and/or the Contracting Authority, the cost breakdown of the Architect/Engineer Agreement detailed cost components to address the Owner’s project requirements.

As required by the Agreement, and as properly authorized, provide the following categories of services: Program Verification, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Document Preparation, Bid and Award Support, Conformed Documents, Construction Administration, Post-Construction, and Additional Services of all types.

Refer tp the Ohio Facilities Construction Manual for additional information about the type and extent of services required for each. A copy of the standard Agreement can be obtained at the OFCC website at https://ofcc.ohio.gov.

During the construction period, provide not less than 4 hours (excluding travel time) on-site construction administration services each week, including (1) attendance at progress meetings, (2) conduct progress meetings and provide meeting minutes, (3) a written field report of each site visit, (4) on-site representation comprised of the A/E and its consultant staff involved in the primary design of the project, all having relevant and appropriate types of construction administration experience.

For purposes of completing the Relevant Project Experience Matrix in Section F of the Statement of Qualifications (Form F110-330), below is a list of relevant scope of work requirements for this RFQ:

1. Design of the new studio areas.
2. Bidding and award support.
3. Project over site during construction.
4. Construction and closeout support.
