Question 1

Posted: 1/3/2022

Question: How can we obtain a set of plans for this project?

Response: The zip file with the plans has been attached.

Question 2

Posted: 1/6/2022

Question: Line No. 0015 calls for 750 CY of "UNDERCUT EXCAVATION". Per Section 210.5, Paragraph C, GDOT states " Undercutting areas not shown in the Plans when directed by the Engineer will be paid for at the rate of $7.50 per cubic yard ($9.80 per cubic meter) for quantities up to 750 yd³ (575 m³). Quantities exceeding 750 yd³ (575 m³) will be considered Extra Work as defined in Subsection 109.05, and will be paid for accordingly. Payment is full compensation for excavating and disposing of undesirable material and supplying, placing, and compacting replacement material." Are contractors to use this price according to GDOT Standards ,or are contractors allowed to make our own unit price?

Response: The contractor will need to follow the GDOT standard.

Question 3

Posted: 1/7/2022

Question: Drawing 13-0001 calls for "SPECIAL DESIGN SPILLWAY UNDER SIDEWALK". In which line item should contractor include the price of the spillway? We suggest creating a new line item for the special design concrete spillway.

Response: b. This item should be included in your sidewalk costs for the bid package. “Spillway under sidewalk”. During construction, it will need to be a separate item in the pay application.

Question 4

Posted: 1/11/2022

Question: Drawings and Bid Schedule call for remove and reset "4' WOOD FENCE". Upon site visit, we see that the fence located between STA 11+64 and STA 13+45 is VINYL, not wood. Are contractors to remove and haul off the vinyl fence to replace with a wooden fence? Or, are contractors to remove and reset the vinyl fence?

Response: The fence is the white vinyl fence that Culver’s just installed so it would be remove and reset that vinyl fence.

Question 5

Posted: 1/11/2022

Question: Drawing 24-0001 shows an existing gas line that will be in conflict with the widening of the road for the length of the project. When will this gas line be relocated? When will this work be completed?

Response: Any utility relocations will be scheduled with the utility companies at the pre-construction meeting.

Question 6

Posted: 1/11/2022

Question: Some utility poles are in conflict with proposed drainage and road widening. When will these poles be relocated? When will the relocation be completed? Drainage is one of the first tasks that are completed in a project.

Response: Any utility relocations will be scheduled with the utility companies at the pre-construction meeting.

Question 7

Posted: 1/11/2022

Question: When does The City plan for the contractor to start the project?

Response: Please find the response in Addendum 1 along with the zoom link.

Question 8

Posted: 1/11/2022

Question: Drawings 19-0012 and 19-0013 show hatching for "PERMANENT CONSTRUCTION" from STA 16+90 to STA 20+75. What is the scope of this work? Is the contractor to demo the existing road and install full depth paving? If so, drawing 19-0012 and 19-0013 indicates traffic is shifting to the right side of the road to do "PERMANENT CONSTRUCTION", but cross sections on drawings 19-0018 and 19-0019 show traffic shifting to the left. How would the city like us to shift the traffic during this construction?

Response: Please find the response in Addendum 1 along with the zoom link.

Question 9

Posted: 1/11/2022

Question: Drawings do not indicate where milling begins and ends. Where would The City like for milling to begin and end?

Response: Please find the response in Addendum 1 along with the zoom link.

Question: Signing and Marking Plans call for eradicating striping. Currently, there is not a pay line item on the bid schedule for eradication of striping. Where would you like the contractor to include the price of this work? We suggest creating a new line item for eradication of striping.

Response: Please find the response in Addendum 1 along with the zoom link.

Question 11

Posted: 1/11/2022

Question: Is grinding an acceptable form of striping eradication?

Response: Please find the response in Addendum 1 along with the zoom link.

Question 12

Posted: 1/14/2022

Question: The bid schedule line number 0320 calls for "PLASTIC FLEXIBLE DELINEATOR, TP 1A". Delineators that are TP 1A sit on the berm of the road. Drawing 26-0001 calls for delineators to be placed in the road on top of asphalt. This type of delineator would be TP 2A, which are surface mount posts that sit on top of the asphalt. Can you please confirm if the city would like to use TP 1A or TP 2A delineators?
