Question: Does the bidder need to have the CBC Specialty License at the time the bid is due, or can it be obtained if/when awarded?

Question: 1. Please confirm the demolition includes the removal of the concrete footer. Is backfill required? 2. Please confirm the slab thickness. 3. Please confirm that no existing underground tank within the site. 4. Please confirm the scope of work excludes all parking and other asphalt surfaces.
Response: 1. Please confirm the demolition includes the removal of the concrete footer. Is backfill required? Answer: Demolition includes below grade footings – Reference drawings and specifications. Backfill is required – reference specifications sections 024116 – Structure Demolition and 312000 – Earth Moving 2. Please confirm the slab thickness. Answer: There are not existing drawings available for the building. Four-to-six-inch slab-on-grade thickness is commonly used. 3. Please confirm that no existing underground tank within the site. Answer: Subsurface Exploration performed by ECS Mid-Atlantic, LLC on February 23, 2018, included in this addendum for information only, indicates that “Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) survey data did not detect the presence of any Underground Storage Tanks (USTs) within the surveyed locations.” 4. Please confirm the scope of work excludes all parking and other asphalt surfaces. Answer: There are areas within the site scope of work that include parking and other asphalt surfaces. Refer to Civil drawings for site scope of work. Additional Supplementary Conditions Requirement: The Contractor shall perform two structural condition assessment of the building at 2705 S. Oakland Street / 2708 S. Nelson Street which is adjacent to the project building at 2700 S. Nelson Street / 2701 S. Oakland Street. The condition assessment shall be performed;- 1. At pre-demolition of the project building 2. At post-demolition of the project building. The contractor shall invite the County representatives and the adjacent building representatives to the structural condition assessments. During the pre-demolition assessment, the contractor shall photo document the existing structural walls floor, ceiling, roof and other structural members of the adjacent building focusing on any cracks, or other structural defects and submit as a record of pre-demolition condition assessment. The post-demolition assessment will be conducted with the County and the adjacent building representatives to verify that the walls, ceiling, roof, floor and structural members have not developed additional defects due to the demolition work.
