Description: The City of Columbia is seeking bids for rennovations to Fire Station #1 at 1000 S Garden Street. The project will consist of renovating an existing fire station of approximately 13,675 s.f. with two proposed additions totaling 1,896 s.f. for the west facility addition (rated for an F-3 tornado shelter) and 1,759 s.f. for the east facility addition. Spaces shall include administrational areas, dormitory, kitchen, emergency operations room, command room, training room, public waiting room, exercise room, and renovated apparatus bay. The exterior features include retaining walls, fenced rear yard enclosure, power gate access, generator enclosure area, new 60’ communication tower, and additional public parking. The entire existing facility will be cleared out during construction, but will have one company on site in a portable trailer on the front of the facility with single apparatus vehicle on standby. The facility will feature a duel fuel backup generator which will provide emergency power for the entire facility. A new architectural shingle roof and new sectional custom overhead doors for the apparatus bay will be part of the scope of work. All bid documents are available through Nuber Architecture, LLC.

Overview: Attention Fire Station #1 Bidders:
Thank you again for your participation in the bid process. You are receiving this e-mail as a part of that process.
We have scheduled a pre-bid conference on site on November 10th at Fire Station #1, 1000 South Garden Street in Columbia, Tn from 12:30 until 2:30 pm to provide you and your sub-contractors with the opportunity to observe the existing conditions of the facility and ask questions pertaining to the drawings. Please download the attached invitation link for that calendar item. It will be mandatory for a representative from each bidding contractor to be in attendance to this meeting for important information. Other attendees you invite are not required to attend. At 12:45 pm, will conduct a meeting with the Owner representatives, the Contractors, and their subcontractors to discuss the project and field any questions from those attending. All questions will be taken under advisement and an official addenda providing responses to those questions will be provided for the benefit of all and for the record.
Bidders, please advise that you received this e-mail and you will have at least one representative of your company that will be in attendance.
Should you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to let me know. If your sub contractors are not able to attend and wish to visit the facility at an alternate date, we will provide information at the meeting for who you may contact for that scheduled visit.
