Barton County, KS Biennial Bridge Inspections

Barton County is seeking proposals from firms qualified to provide Routine Bridge Inspections for the County’s 371 bridges that are due for their biennial inspection, and for 1 recently constructed bridge that requires an inventory inspection.  The selected firm will provide all necessary items required by Barton County, KDOT, and the FHWA for inspection, evaluation, reporting, and documentation.  Bridge inspections must cover the Scope of Services for Local Routine Bridge Inspections, including Attachments A and B, as required by KDOT and to comply with the Code of Federal Regulations 23 CFR 650 as noted in the Scope of Services.

If your firm is interested in being considered for providing inspection services on this project you must submit your proposal electronically.  You may receive electronic notifications and submit your proposal online at www.bartoncounty.org by clicking on the Procurement tab located in the upper right-hand corner of the home page.  Proposals should be submitted no later than 10:00 a.m. on January 26, 2021 through the online procurement portal.  Proposals received after that date and time will not be considered.  Barton County reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and to award in the best interests of the County. Proposals will be evaluated based on the criteria listed below.  Elaborate proposals are not encouraged.

It is the intent of this process that a firm will be selected and approved by the Barton County Commission on February 8, 2021. The field inspection due date for each individual bridge is mandatory and must be performed no later than the due date as per federal and state regulations.  The required field inspection dates begin on March 4, 2021, and extend through March 27^th, 2021, but they are bridge specific.  The detailed schedule of inspections and the KDOT Scope of Services is available by contacting the Barton County Engineer by email bmcmanaman@bartoncounty.org, or by calling the office at 620-793-1808.
