Description: Town of Kernersville (Owner) is requesting Bids for the construction of the following Project:
Thomas Drake Court Culvert Replacement
WKD Project Number 20180394.00.RA
Bids for the construction of the Project will be received at the Town of Kernersville located at 509 Michael Street, Kernersville, NC 27284, until Friday, July 8th, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. EST local time. At that time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read.
1. The Thomas Drake Court Culvert Replacement project includes but is not limited to the following:
a. Replacement of an existing 60-inch Corrugated Metal Pipe (CMP) culvert under Thomas Drake Court with a proposed 60-inch Reinforced Concrete Pipe (RCP).
b. Streambank grading and stabilization plantings.
c. Custom Cast-in-place drainage structures.
d. Asphalt removal and replacement.
e. Select tree removal.
f. Boulder toe wall construction with associated streambank stabilization grading.
g. Traffic Control.
The Project has an expected duration of 150 days.

Information and Bidding Documents for the Project can be found at the following designated website:

Bidding Documents may be downloaded from the designated website. Prospective Bidders are urged to register with the designated website as a plan holder, even if Bidding Documents are obtained from a plan room or source other than the designated website in either electronic or paper format. The designated website will be updated periodically with addenda, lists of registered plan holders, reports, and other information relevant to submitting a Bid for the Project. All official notifications, addenda, and other Bidding Documents will be offered only through the designated website. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the designated website.
Pre-bid Conference
A pre-bid conference for the Project will be held on Tuesday, June 14th, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. EST at Town of Kernersville, Public Services Main Building – Training Room, 509 Michael Street, Kernersville, NC 27284. Use lower parking lot located on the backside of the building; flags are on the frontside. Signs will be located at the entrance indicating where to park.
Attendance at the pre-bid conference is encouraged but not required.
