Description:

Whitehall Drive Boardwalk is an approximately 360' boardwalk connecting US 21 to abandoned White Hall Drive roadbed over a tributary of the Beaufort River. The plan is to construct a multi-use 12' wide timber boardwalk along the Whitehall Park Trail to connect to Sea Island Parkway, US21. The site connects the two roadway embankments consisting of grassy landscaped areas Specifically, the boardwalk will provide a direct connection from existing bicycle-pedestrian facilities to Whitehall Park. The project is for public transportation of pedestrians and bicycles.
The work consists of constructing a wooden multi-use 12’ wide boardwalk along the Whitehall Park Trail to the Sea Island Parkway. Work shall include Earthwork, Removal & Disposal of existing Sidewalk, expanding the Sidewalk with an Inline Pedestrian Ramp and installing a Variable Width Boardwalk adjacent to the sidewalk which will tie into the elevated boardwalk construction. The boardwalk will be approximately 280 feet long with 10-inch diameter wooden piles spaced at 10-foot increments. Pre-Bid Meeting Date: 7/8/2021 2:00 PM

Pre-Bid Meeting Details: A NON-MANDATORY PRE-BID MEETING WILL BE HELD AT 2:00 P.M. THURSDAY JULY 8, 2021. ALL POTENTIAL BIDDERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND. The Pre-Bid meeting will be an “in-person” meeting held at Beaufort City Hall, 1911 Boundary Street, in the 2nd floor Executive conference room 2, rm #230. Immediately following the pre-bid meeting will be a site visit hosted by the resident engineer and or member of the engineering design team. This will be the only hosted site visit offered.
