Description: The objective of this project is to install wetland plants at the toe and on a shallow shelf in the water adjacent to the L-77W levee for a distance of 1.7 miles, beginning at a point approximately 0.5 miles north of the existing airboat ramp over L-77W and extending northward to the existing concrete weir at the north end of the levee. L-77W will undergo structural maintenance beginning in January 2023 and wetland plants will be installed in the designated locations beginning in March 2023. The overall goal of this project is to establish appropriate native wetland plants along L-77W to reduce shoreline erosion by protecting the levee from wave action and stabilizing the soil by establishing rooted plants, while also providing enhanced wetland habitat and recreational enjoyment.

The estimated budget for the project is $99,000.00.

A Non-Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference is scheduled for December 20, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., at L-77W.
The entrance to L-77W is on the north side of SR 60, 1.15 miles west of CR 512 outside Vero Beach, Florida in Indian River County. It is directly across the street from the east entrance to Fort Drum Marsh Conservation Area, which is at 17855 East SR 60, Vero Beach, Florida 32966.
