Description:

SC-170 Sidewalk Extension Project is for the construction of an 8' sidewalk on Robert Smalls Parkway. The
sidewalk is approximately 550' in length and will disturb 0.125 acres. The extension of sidewalk is on the
southside of SC-170 and will be constructed to connect the existing sidewalk to the Spanish Moss Trail.
Construction activities include sidewalk, storm drainage, site lighting, and landscaping improvements.

Pre-Bid Meeting Date: 7/1/2021 2:00 PM

Pre-Bid Meeting Details: A NON-MANDATORY PRE-PROPOSAL MEETING WILL BE HELD AT 2:00 PM, THURSDAY JULY 1, 2021 ALL POTENTIAL OFFERORS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND. The meeting will be held in-person in Beaufort City Hall, 1911 Boundary Street, Beaufort SC, 29902, 1st floor planning conference room. A SITE VISIT WITH THE PROJECT ENGINEER WILL TAKE PLACE ON THURSDAY JULY 1, 2021 IMMEDIATLY FOLLOWING THE PRE-BID MEETING. THIS WILL BE THE ONLY HOSTED SITE VISIT. Pre-Bid attendees will drive to the location for the site visit.

Overview: Thank you for your bid in response to our RFP 2021-117, HWY 170 SIDEWALK EXTENSION. This letter is to inform you that the City of Beaufort has rejected all proposals received under the above noted RFP due to the following reasons: • All bids for the HWY 170 Sidewalk Extension project exceed the current approved budget amount. • Our municipality was recently notified of a major utility service project near this location which will interfere with this project. • Progress on a nearby private construction project will create adverse traffic conditions as well as has great potential to disrupt the completed sidewalk project.
