Description:

Sealed bids for the COMMERCIAL ALLEY SEWER REPLACEMENT Project in the City of Quincy, Adams County, Illinois, described herein will be received at the office of the City Clerk, 730 Maine Street, Quincy, Illinois 62301 until 11:00 AM local time, Wednesday, November 3, 2021 and at that time publicly opened and read aloud in the City Hall Council Chamber.

The project consists of removing existing 12” clay sewer pipe and re-installing approximately 325 lineal feet of 12” PVC sewer pipe; removing one (1) brick manhole and installing two (2) precast concrete manholes; reconnecting existing sewer laterals; backfilling trench with compacted coarse aggregate; surface restoration and related improvements.

All bids shall be accompanied by either a bid bond on the “Proposal Bid” form contained in the proposal, executed by a corporate surety company satisfactory to the city of Quincy, or a bank cashier’s check, an irrevocable letter of credit or a properly certified check for not less than 5 percent of the amount bid, or for the amount listed in the specifications.

The City Council of Quincy reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities.

No bid may be withdrawn after the time for opening of the bids is past.

Bidders are notified that not less than the prevailing wage rate as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor shall be paid to all workers performing work under this contract.
