Description: The City of Olney will receive sealed bids for the Parkside Plaza 8" Waterline Extension and 8" Sanitary Sewer Extension, including 12" tapping sleeve and valve, 10 LF of 8" waterline, 642 LF of 8" sanitary sewer, 90 LF of 8" sanitary sewer bored and cased, manholes, and ancillary work until 11 a.m. on February 22, 2018, at the Olney City Hall, 300 S. Whittle Ave., Olney, IL 62450, at which time and place all bids will be opened. Bidding information and Contract Documents, including drawings and technical specifications, are available for review at the office of Charleston Engineering, Inc., 105 N. Kitchell, Olney, IL 62450. Copies of the contract documents may be obtained by depositing $50 (nonrefundable) with Charleston Engineering, Inc., phone 618-392-0736. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the City of Olney, negotiable US Government bonds (at par value), or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety in an amount equal to 10% of the total bid shall be submitted with each bid. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project, and the contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. The City of Olney reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. A Substance Abuse Policy shall be submitted before a Contract is awarded. Bids may be held by the City of Olney for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the opening of bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding the contract.
