Description: Sealed bids for the BROADWAY EMERGENCY SEWER REPLACEMENT Project in the City of Quincy, Adams County, Illinois, described herein will be received at the office of the City Clerk, 730 Maine Street, Quincy, Illinois 62301 until 11:00 AM local time, Wednesday, November 8, 2023 and at that time publicly opened and read aloud in the City Hall Council Chamber.
The project consists of removal of a brick manhole and installation of a precast concrete manhole in its place; removal of approximately fifty-eight (58) lineal feet of collapsed sewer pipe and installation of 8” PVC sewer pipe in its place; furnishing and installing a precast concrete manhole to connect to an existing 8” service lateral; removal of existing pavement and restoration with Portland cement concrete (PCC) patches; removal of PCC sidewalk, curb & gutter; construction of PCC sidewalk, curb & gutter and curb ramp; traffic control; and related improvements.
Plans and specifications are available online at www.quincyil.gov/bids and may be examined at the office of the Department of Utilities & Engineering, City Hall, 730 Maine Street, Quincy, Illinois 62301.
All bids shall be accompanied by either a bid bond on the “Proposal Bid” form contained in the proposal, executed by a corporate surety company satisfactory to the city of Quincy, or a bank cashier’s check, an irrevocable letter of credit or a properly certified check for not less than 5 percent of the amount bid, or for the amount listed in the specifications.
The City Council of Quincy reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities.
No bid may be withdrawn after the time for opening of the bids is past.
