Description: A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held in Meeting Room 108 of the Spalding County Courthouse Annex, 119 East Solomon Street, Griffin, GA on, March 16, 2016 at 10:30 AM (EST). Immediately following the pre-bid conference, the facility will be open for a contractor walkthrough. Bids will be received at the Spalding County Board of Commissioners office at the above referenced address, no later than March 31, 2016 at 2:00 PM (EST) at which time there will be a public bid opening in Meeting Room 108 of the Spalding County Courthouse Annex. It is the bidding contractor’s sole responsibility to assure that their bid is received by Spalding County at the above referenced address, by this due date and time. Bids received after this specified due date and time shall be declared unresponsive and therefore will not be considered during the evaluation process. The bid received from asbestos abatement contractors shall include all labor, materials, tools, notification fees, and equipment to complete the work as specified within the contract documents. Bids must be submitted in duplicate on formats established in Section 00300, titled “Bid Form” of the project manual. Copies of the bidding documents may be purchased (non-refundable) at the mandatory pre-bid at a cost of $40.00 per copy. Make the check payable to Life Environmental Services, Inc., P.O. Box 98217, Atlanta, GA 30359 and reference: Old Fairmont School Reno. A Bid Bond shall be required for this project in the amount equal to 5% of the bid. Performance and Payment (P&P) Bonds will be required of the successful bidder each in the amount equal to 100 percent of the contract sum. Said P&P Bonds shall be furnished within ten (10) days following execution of the contract. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive irregularities, technicalities, and in formalities in the bidding. Bids shall be submitted in duplicate in a sealed envelope with bidder’s name and address on the outside, clearly labeled as “Old Fairmont School Bid Documents” with the date, time, and location of bid opening in the lower left corner.
