Description:

The Broward County Housing Authority ("BCHA”), on behalf of Building Better Communities (BBC), a 501[c][3], is interested in the review and selection of a firm or firms interested in serving as a Co-Developer partner to BBC and requests the submission of qualifications for consideration. The BCHA is a public housing authority (PHA) created pursuant to Chapter 421 of the Florida Statutes. 

BBC desires to develop a mixed income community with additional housing opportunities that include low and moderate-income residents of Broward County located in South Florida. It will leverage access to land and proximity to healthcare and highway systems in the Deerfield Beach area of Broward County in a public/private partnership with a qualified Co-Developer. 

BBC will consider utilizing multiple debt and equity instruments including tax exempt bonds, low income housing tax credits, mortgage financing, limited partnerships, HOME funds, SHIP funds, disaster recovery funds, County trust funds, and public/private collaborations as its principal forms of financing to develop additional affordable housing and potentially address other income ranges up to 80% of the Area Median Income. A major role of the selected Co-Developer will be to identify adequate development funds from available sources and to provide guarantees during the development period.

The BCHA has procured TAG Associates, Inc. ("TAG") as the Development Advisor to the BCHA and will be assisted by TAG in this procurement for a Co-Developer.
