Question 1

Posted: 10/7/2020

Question: Is the County already engaged in any type consulting and/or engineering agreement related to broadband, technology, or city master planning? Has the County investigated any needs or use cases for specific "smart city" or IoT applications? Has the County deployed any "smart city" services or IoT application proojects or programs? Has the County pursued and/or been awarded any grants or funding dedicated to broadband development? Has the County performed or acquired data collection (LiDAR, or other) for any/all public RoW? What GIS (CAD, PDF, or other) data can the city provide? What is the existing GIS software and will any change need to be made? Are there special GIS requirements for the City?  Has the County determined that it would prefer to soley own and operate and provide service, or is the County still open to other partnerships and business models? Would the County entertain coordinating or partnering with adjacent counties (in FL and/or AL)? Who does County currently use for internet access and connectivity? Has County already conferred with current local incumbent providers for a county-wide solution? What was the response? Are there any franchise or other legal requirements for City backbone or 3rd parties? Are there existing service contracts for City buildings?  When do they expire? Does the County own or have access to any avilable conduits or fiber strands? What is the status of the relationship with the local predominant pole owner (likely Gulf Power)?

Response: Response is provided through Addendum #2.
