Question 1

Posted: 4/19/2022

Question: Darlington County Sheriff’s Office Fence RFP 14-05-20-2022 1. Gate quantities do not match up to scope. There are more than (4) gates. I’m counting (6) including the pedestrian as the possible 8’ manual gate. Please clarify gates. 2. What is the desired type and width for the (2) horizontal slide gates to be controlled by the existing Paxton system? 3. Is the 8’ manual gate the proposed pedestrian gate, and will it be a swing or slide gate? How will this gate be secured/tie into fence or building? Will there be any emergency egress hardware required? 4. Will the contractor or owner be removing the existing wooden fence off Harry Byrd to install new fence? 5. Will a concrete mow strip be required along the fence line? 6. Can specifications be provided for the 6’h chain link fence to ensure bids are apples to apples? i.e. fabric gauge, top/bottom rails & post diameters, etc. Thank you, Erin Figueroa Maner Builders Supply 843-552-0242

Response: 1. Correct there are 6 six gates. 4 was a typographical error. 2. The gates to be controlled by the Paxton System would have to be big enough for ambulance to pass thru, so we are leaving it up to the proposer to suggest the seize. 3. Proposed pedestrian gate will be a swing gate and part tied into fencing and building. No emergency egress. 4. Contractor to remove existing wood fence to install new fence. 5. No concrete mow strip. 6. Their are no specs to be provided.
