Question 1

Posted: 10/23/2023

Question: Do you happen to have a cost estimate or range for this project?

Response: Florence County does not state the budget for its project in the solicitation.

Question 2

Posted: 10/30/2023

Question: 1. Is there a need for additional gas- Rinnai water heater(which we are figuring on one exterior). If so will it be propane or natural gas? 2. How many exterior hose bibbs will be required? 3. What type of showers are expected , fiberglass, ceramic tile, ADA non ADA? 4. Will there be a need for a water cooler/bottle filler in gym area? 5. Wiil two floor drains in the shower locker area suffice? 6. Shall laundry sink in Washer/Extractor area be stainless or will molded suffice? 7. Will a floor drain in air compressor room be required? 8. Where is present location of existing air compressor, if there is one? 9. Air compressor to be supplied by county? 10. On air lines, will this be an extension of what is there or is this a new air system with multiple drops (via air reels by owner) from existing truck bays for air charging for trucks? If this is a new air system, how many air drops are needed?

Response: 1. We hope to utilize our existing natural gas-fired water heater. If it is too small to handle the calculated maximum demand, then we would prefer to replace it with a larger one, or a tankless water heater. 2. We do not need any additional hose bibs. I don’t believe there are any exterior spigots in conflict with our proposed additions. If this is not correct, then we would relocate them to a convenient location nearby. 3. Fiberglass showers, ADA where required. NOTE: This should match that of our station at 1033 S. Ebenezer Rd., Florence SC. 4. We do not need water plumbed to that side of the station. A new water fountain with bottle filling station in the bay area should be sufficient. 5. Two floor drains in the shower locker area should suffice. 6. A stainless laundry sink would be preferred. 7. A floor drain should not be required in the air compressor room. 8. The existing air compressor is located at our other station at 3379 Pine Needles Rd., Florence SC 9. West Florence Fire Department will supply the air compressor. We plan to have the Bauer representative install it. 10. There will be no air line piping associated with this compressor. NOTE: The air compressor being referred to is for breathing air. We stopped using shore-line air hoses due to the rust particle contamination inherent in these carbon steel piped systems. The fire trucks utilize onboard air compressors and battery chargers to remain ready to respond. We do keep a portable air compressor for maintaining tire pressure, but that is not part of the installed equipment.
