Description: The Franklin County School District, Facilities Department, will receive and consider proposals from prospective Architectural Design Firms for the planning and design of a Transportation and Maintenance Facility. The firm will work with the School District’s Facilities Department and Construction Management Firm under guidance of the School Board of Franklin County, Florida. The proposed project is located at State Road 65 in Franklin County, FL (Parcel ID: 15-08S-06W-0000-0010-0030).

The School District’s Transportation and Maintenance Facility is anticipated to include the following, but not limited to, parking for current school bus fleet and white fleet, transportation service/repair bays, transportation department office space, fueling station, exterior covered fleet wash station, and maintenance department service/office space.

The School District seeks firm(s) that have experience providing the same or similar services to school districts, municipalities and governmental entities. The Applicants may provide certification or experience with Florida Department of Education, SREF. Prospective Architectural Firms shall include Engineering (subconsultants or on staff) to complete the scope of work.

Question #1: What is the estimated construction value for this project?

Answer: The estimated value of this project is $5,000,000.



Question #2: Appendix I isn’t listed in the “REQUIRED DOCUMENTS” section. Please confirm that this is only to be used at the Presentation stage.

Answer: Yes, Appendix I will only be used for the presentations to the interview committee selection process.



Question #3: Regarding Appendix E – should we both include these in the printed submittal and have them e-mailed directly to the Facilities and Planning Department?

Answer: Appendix E should be emailed directly from each reference to the Facilities and Planning Department at jgilbert@fcsdfl.org.



Question #4: Page 4, Section 2.1.C. states that we should follow the order listed in 2.2.A, however, we are being scored on the items listed in 2.2.B. Would it be ok to add the items listed below right after the REQUIRED DOCUMENT items?:

        -Local and School Related Project Experience (Related Experience is a separate item and will be in the SF 330)
        -Sustainable Design and Construction Practices
        -Minority Business Enterprise

Answer: Yes, you may add any other items you would like to give after the “Required Documents” in 2.2A.
