Title: Wassamassaw Playground Improvements and Cost Estimate

Description: The Town of Summerville is seeking sealed RFP’s for the removal of existing equipment and the design and installation of new playground equipment at Wassamassaw Playground located at 651 Wassamassaw Road, Summerville, SC 29483.
RFP packages will be available beginning Tuesday, September 26, 2023 on the Town website (www.summervillesc.gov\rfp) under the RFP menu. Sealed RFP’s are due by 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 26, 2023 and will be opened and publicly read in the 2nd floor training room at Summerville Town Hall Annex, located at 200 S. Main Street, Summerville, SC 29483. Late RFP’s will not be accepted, NO EXCEPTIONS.

10. Project Budget is $120,000 but can include additional options or add-ons up to $150,000. The RFP should include all costs.

1. Are site photos available?
-I’ve attached a couple photos. Please see page #3.
2. What is the access to the site?
-There is a gate on either side of the playground. A section of fence can be removed if necessary to provide greater access, but it would need to be reinstalled by the contractor.
3. What is the use zone
-Each bidder needs to verify the size and area of the playground.
4. Do you have a preference to color or themed unit?
-Preference is earthy colors or similar colors that age well. No preference on theme.
5. How old is the existing equipment on site that they are keeping in the shared use zone?
-Equipment that can be incorporated into the new design is approximately 15-20 years old.
6. Are borders needed?
- The existing playground is outlined by boards and a fence, and I do not believe additional borders are necessary. If additional depth for the EWF is required, our preference would be to excavate deeper rather than add new borders.
7. Would it be ok for me to hand deliver our bid?
-Yes, bids can be delivered by hand to the Town’s finance department located at 200 S Main St, Summerville SC 29483 prior to the posted deadline.
8. Also, can we print the 20 pages on front and back?
-Yes.
