Question: 1) What is the thickness of the end panels and do the panels get clear coated or stained to match? (MDF core can be 3/4 or 1-1/4”). 2) What is the number of slats required per panel? (Entire length of panels or top half or third? 3) where are the slat wall end panels located? Does single-face shelving get wood slat end panels or just double-face? 4) what type of shelf? Plain with adjustable backstop or low back integral shelf? 5) are book supports required? One per shelf level? What type: cork, magnetic, or findable? Thank you.

(MDF core can be 3/4 or 1-1/4”) 3/4 thick MDF panels with wood veneer surface, edge profile mating the face veneer. 2) What is the number of slats required per panel? (Entire length of panels or top half or third? The slats should run at least 3/4 down the panel. 3) where are the slat wall end panels located? Does single-face shelving get wood slat end panels or just double-face? Just on the ends that terminated into the research room. Solid ends can be applied to each of the inner row terminations. 4) what type of shelf? Plain with adjustable backstop or low back integral shelf? Low back integral shelf 5) are book supports required? One per shelf level? What type: cork, magnetic, or findable? Yes, one per shelf, we are open to cork, magnetic or findable. Ideally, it would be integrated with the shelf. 6) Is registration with the county required to bid on this project? Question: Please provide dimensioned floor plan or dimensions of each of the shelving units
Response: 1. Please refer to DCHC&M PDF in the list of documents on Vendor Registry for floor plan dimensions. 2. Dimensions of each of the shelving units? The Historical Commission would like to have rows of free-standing double facing units. The units would need 84” to 90” tall, allowing for 6 movable shelves, with the base being stationary. The doubles need to have a footprint that is 24” allowing for a base of 12” on each side. The single would be a 12” base. The Historical Commission would like wooden ends with slat wall groves to allow for slat wall accessories. The metal color for shelving should be tan-colored and all wood surfaces should be a light tone color. Also, (MDF core can be 3/4 or 1-1/4”) 3/4 thick MDF panels with wood veneer surface, edge profile mating the face veneer. The entire length of panels or top half or third? The slats should run at least 3/4 down the panel.
