Description: This is a per ton timber sale comprised of approximately 116.3 acres (“Sale Area”) within the Heart Island Conservation Area, located in Volusia County, Florida. The Sale Area is in Section 28; Township 14 South; Range 29 East (Maps are included in the attached agreement). This timber sale is a combination of clearcut and marked thinning. The clearcut is 11.5 acres of mature slash pine. The marked thinning is 104.8 acres of slash pine established in 1990, and previously thinned in 2006. Trees for harvest in the thinning area are marked with blue paint at eye level, and all merchantable trees shall be harvested from the clearcut area. The District estimates the volume of timber conveyed in this Agreement to be 1,716 tons of pulpwood and 245 tons of Chip-n-saw, and undetermined volume of hardwood, but there is no guarantee that the volume is present.
