Title: Betz Timber Sale at Thomas Creek Conservation Area

Deadline: 7/12/2022 2:00 PM   (UTC-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)

Status: Deadline Expired

Solicitation Number: 37964

Description: This is a per ton timber sale comprised of approximately 239 acres within the Thomas Creek Conservation Area, located in Duval County north of Lannie Road and the Jacksonville International Airport. The Sale Area is in Section 38; Township 2 North; Range 26 East. Sale boundaries include firebreaks, creek swamp, and obvious change in timber type (maps are included in the attached agreement). This timber sale is a logger-select thinning in natural slash pine stands established in 1985. It is a thinning from below with the objective of reducing tree density and removing the poorest quality trees. The selection process for thinning shall be to remove diseased, defective, and suppressed trees first, followed by a portion of the intermediate and co-dominant trees to reach the desired density of 50 square feet of basal area per acre. The District roughly estimates the volume of timber conveyed in this Agreement to be 4,300 tons of pulpwood, 720 tons of chip-n-saw, and 1,700 tons of sawtimber, but there is no guarantee that the volume is present. PLEASE NOTE: • Advance Payment 20% required (section 6) • Security Deposit requirement $5000 (section 7).
