Overview: 3.0 SCOPE OF SERVICES AND REQUIREMENTS Beaufort County is interested in seeking the services of a Landscape Contractor to provide project oversight, supervision, inspection, materials & labor during the plant installation, maintenance and guarantee (warranty) of the landscape medians along sections of U.S. Highway 17 and the traffic circle at Gardens Corner in Northern Beaufort County. The intent of this Solicitation is to inaugurate a Landscape Installation/Warranty/Maintenance Contract that will span a 3-year time period from the beginning to the end of the contract period. The selected Landscape Contractor will supervise during the installation and maintenance of the landscape materials in selected sections of U.S. Highway 17. Beaufort County has obtained the necessary SCDOT Encroachment permit for this work. The project limits are located in the Highway 17 medians immediately east and west of the Gardens Corner traffic circle and within the traffic circle which is approximately one (1) mile in length. A landscape irrigation system will not be available within the medians or traffic circle and will not be part of this contract; the Landscape Contractor shall provide water and temporary watering devices and/or systems as needed throughout the duration of this contract. All payments for the work performed under this contract will run through selected Landscape Contractor. The Beaufort County Community Development Department will be the final authority on the satisfactory implementation of the work performed under the Installation/Warranty/Maintenance Contract.

Question: Please clarify if there is a second mulch/ pine straw application in the first year establishment period? Please clarify how many mulch and Pinestraw application we should include in Year 2 & 3 Maintenance pricing?
Response: A second 3” thick application of pine straw mulch will be required in the first year establishment period. Two applications of 3” thick pine straw mulch is required in years 2 and 3 of the maintenance period.
