KCDC is clarifying that proposers may submit in the “General Architectural Services (including Landscape Architecture) Discipline” without proposing engineering, cost estimation, et cetera consultants as well. You may or may not propose engineering, cost estimation, et cetera based on your firm’s interest in providing such services. KCDC’s goal is to a roster of firms that can provide a wide range of disciplines and fields of expertise. Include qualifications of the disciplines for which you wish consideration.

Question: Is design of new parking facilities, restoration of existing parking facilities or any other scope related to parking included in this advertisement?

Response: KCDC does not typically need these type of services. There is always the chance that KCDC may need services around parking but this certainly not a focus at this time.

Question: Please clarify the statement regarding renovation of civic buildings (e.g., schools, community centers). Will the renovation be an adaptive reuse for residential use. Or, remain as school/ community center.

Response: Generally it would be renovations of civic building into residential usage. There may be occasions in which KCDC has a non-residential building that needs renovated/constructed. Examples would include offices, maintenance areas, Boys/Girls Clubs, et cetera. While either of these situations is likely to be rare, KCDC's goal is to have a roster of firms with a wide range of skill sets and experiences to cover most needs as they arise.
