Question: IFC 2018 SC Modified Code chapter 11 references existing buildings and chapter 9 references replacement of a fire alarm panel. Will these specific code requirements to upgrade visual appliance need to be met or is the county requiring the new building code to met as if this was from the ground up building construction?
Response: The County is not requiring the new building code just to upgrade the current system.
