Question: are there any drawings and/ or specs for this job?

Response: There are no drawings for this project. We encourage contracts to schedule an appointment to view the roof of the Mozingo Building.

Question: the scope of work lists the square footage as " 1,7860 " square feet. is this a typo?

Response: This is a typo and it is the square footage of the inside of the building. The roof is approximately 10,000 sq. ft.

Question: Will the work be performed when building is occupied, if so, I would like to bid on the Temporary 6mil RF Poly Sheets to be installed below ceiling before roof replacement

Response: The building will continue normal operations during the roof replacement.

Question: Hello Barry Is the county asking for a specific type of roof system? TPO, PVC, EPDM, REMOVE THE EXISTING ROOF AND INSTALL NEW TAPERED INSULATION? OR COVER OVER THE EXISTING ROOF? OR ARE YOU LEAVING IT UP TO THE CONTRACTOR TO QUOTE YOU A 20 YEAR ROOF SYSTEM THEY THINK IS BEST FOR THE COUNTY BUDGET AND EXISTING BUILDING? ARE THE STANDING SEAM METAL ROOFS OVER THE STAIR WELLS BEING REPLACED ALSO?

Response: You are correct we are leaving it up to the contractor to quote the best roof system with the best warranty. The stair wells can be quoted as well.

Question: Hello we have a clarification question about the bid date, V.R. bid documents read bid date is prior to 3:00 pm on 10/14/22 The SCEBO add has the bid date as 10/15/22 at 3:pm, I know to go by what the spec read but just making sure this is a typo?

Response: That is a typo the bids are due on 10/15/2022 by 3:00pm.

Question: Hello Are there different set of bid documents on the Darlington county website that have a more specific scope of work than the the bid documents here on V.R.? or are the documents the same on both site?

Response: The documents are the same.

Question: Hello Barry Thanks for clarifying the bid date as 10/15/22 by 3:00 pm, I wanted to make you aware that the Bid date deadline on V.R. is still 10/14/22 at 3:00 pm, so once this time is reached, V.R. will close this bid immediately at 3:00 pm and 1 second on 10/14/22 and no one will be able to submit a bid by V.R. for this project after 3:00 pm on 10/14/22, a day earlier than the bids are due by?

Response: Correct date is October 15, 2022 at 3pm. The SCBO advertisement has the incorrect date.

Question: The bids are to be submitted via V.R. Are hard copy bids required to be mailed in also by the bid date? Are bids to be submitted on contractor letterhead? What type of information for roof Scope of Work is required with the bid?

Response: You do not have to submit through Vendor Registry if you do not want to. Submitting through V.R. is just an option we provide to vendors other that mail or hand delivery. Yes, bids need to be submitted on contractor letterhead and the contractor needs to provide Darlington County with a complete assessment for the roof replacement at the Mozingo Building along with material and workmanship warranties.
