Description: The City of Athens is seeking qualified firms for the purpose of providing engineering services as required by TDOT for STBG funded projects. Services will include those outlined in the Local Government Guidelines Manual beginning with NEPA and concluding with Project Close Out. Services may include, but are not limited to NEPA, surveying, preliminary engineering, right-of-way services, final design, bidding, acquisition of other permits as required for the project location, and construction engineering inspection. Services will be procured using the competitive negotiation process and a project specific contract will be used for the basis of the work associated with this request for qualifications.
The City has identified certain streets within the City which may require milling, paving, striping, application of thermoplastics, core sampling, and updates needed for ADA compliance. The selected firm will provide all information required by TDOT for use of STBG funds to accomplish the above outlined needs. The City is soliciting qualifications from TDOT prequalified firms interested in providing professional engineering services needed to accomplish this task.
The City desires to commence activities immediately upon entering into a services agreement with a firm and receiving a Notice to Proceed from TDOT. A TDOT contract is already in place between the City and TDOT for the stated project.
