Question 1
Posted: 4/14/2025
Question: 1. What is the expected simulation period for the 2025 models? For example 2022 to 2025 or some other period? 2. For Task 4.2 “ensure the Town can compare the previous model outputs (2002 baseline and 2021) to the new 2025 model results”, does this imply that the Town is looking to apply the 2002 and 2021 input conditions in the 2025 calibrated model and rerun it and see how the results change? Or is the Town just seeking compare the numeric results of the 2025 model to the outputs from the 2002 and 2021 models to see how flow and bacterial levels have changed over time? 3. The previous modeling effort did not explicitly model existing individual stormwater ponds in XPSWMM. Are you looking to use the same approach this time. Can we assume that the 8 proposed projects will be explicitly modeled in PCSWMM? 4. Do the eight preliminary design projects already have delineated drainage areas and treatment volumes? 5. Can we confirm the H&H methods used to develop the water quantity portion of the existing models will remain consistent? It appears the SWMM hydrology was used in developing the existing models, can we assume the NRCS CN methodology with time of concentrations will not be required? 6. Are there specific scenarios, such as king tides, extreme weather events or climate change scenarios, that the Town wants explicitly modeled? 7. The May River Watershed Action Plan wasn’t calibrated by flow (Section 3.0 & 3.1 of the May River Headwaters Action Plan report), will there be any flow calibrations on the existing models or will the models be converted to the new software and then flow calibrated? 8. Section 4.1 references 2021 XPSWMM conversion to 2021 PCSWMM for technical support however, task 4.2 discusses 2025 PCSWMM model development. Will there be two different PCSWMM versions involved in this project or will the 2021 XPSWMM model be converted to 2025 PCSWMM instead of 2021 PCSWMM.
Response: See Addendum 1.
