Description: This is a per ton timber sale comprised of approximately 291.7 acres (“Sale Area”) within the Heart Island Conservation Area, located in Volusia County, Florida. The Sale Area is in Section 1; Township 15 South; Range 29 East (Maps are included in the attached Agreement). This timber sale is conducted in mature pine plantations. Timber to be removed includes every third row with select thinning of diseased and suppressed trees from leave rows to reach the desired density of 175 trees per acre (Approximately 45-50 basal area per acre). The District estimates the volume of timber conveyed in this Agreement to be 7,100 tons of pine pulpwood, and 148 tons of CNS, but there is no guarantee that the volume is present.
