Question 1

Posted: 3/31/2020

Question: Any idea how much longer the sidewalk may need to be?

Response: You can put it at whatever distance you want.

Question 2

Posted: 3/31/2020

Question: - The Drawing for this project shows two play spaces: 1) Play Area and 2) Playground Area -- please confirm this only pertains to "Playground Area" - Pg 10 of the RFB Document states "3. The playgrounds..." -- please advise if there are more than one playground in the designated space, or if there is only one, singular playground. - Pg 10 on the RFB Document states "2. Approximate square footage of rubber playground is 40'x40'" ... with this being a new development, is this a suggested amount of space the District wants to see surfaced in Pour-In-Place (PIP)? Please clarify. If this is the desired space to allocate with PIP surfacing, is there a desired space for the play space surfaced in EWFM (mulch)? - Pg 10-11 of the RFB Document #11 calls for "concrete curb pad for rubber surface..."; #17 makes mention of concrete pad as well -- Can surfacing be executed with placing compacted aggregate rock subase over graded soil with a concrete curb border/containment system with PIP surfacing going over the aggregate and terminating at the concrete curbing? OR does this mean that there is to be a full concrete pad that the PIP surface will go over, terminating at the concrete curbing? - Pg 11 of the RFB Document #13 states "must have ADA equipment" -- Does this mean all equipment should be ADA accessible, or that the appropriate quota / amount ADA play events is included in proposed design? Thank you.

Response: Use Playground Area, not Play Area. One playground, not "playgrounds", typo. 40 x 40 is only a suggestion. The district would like a rubber surface with playground equipment and a mulch area with playground equipment. Use whatever combination you feel fits the space and budget. There must be some ADA equipment on the playground, not all equipment must be ADA compliant. Concrete pad under rubber surface. Concrete curb will not be mandatory.

Question 3

Posted: 4/3/2020

Question: Is there room to expand outside of the 40' x 40' area in either direction? You did not specify a post size for the equipment or swings. Would you prefer a 5" post system for equipment and a 3 1/2" post for the swings? Would you please show the response to all the questions to everyone.

Response: The area of 40 x 40 is only a reference. The goal is to have play equipment on the rubber surface along with play equipment on mulch. Use whatever combination you feel suits our needs and budget. There are to be no swings in this project. All answers are posted on Vendor Registry.

Question 4

Posted: 4/6/2020

Question: I would like to see the answer to question 2. I especially would like to know if compaction alone can be used as the sub-base for the rubber surfacing. I would also like to know if concrete curbs and are truly required. The two newest schools do not have the curbs. We recommend a slant of the rubber surfacing to the wood fiber surfacing. This keeps the playground area compliant when the wood fiber gets displaced to keep the play pit in compliance. Thanks for your help!

Response: Answered. Curbs are not mandatory.

Question 5

Posted: 4/6/2020

Question: Should the sidewalk be 5 foot wide to meet ADA requirements? Also, would the sidewalk we provide be an extension off of the existing concrete sidewalk shown on the drawing that looks to be coming out of a stairwell?

Response: If an extension is needed to the sidewalk to extend to the rubber surface, then matching the existing sidewalk of 4' would suffice.

Question 6

Posted: 4/6/2020

Question:

Response: No question asked.

Question 7

Posted: 4/6/2020

Question: Can a "timber" boarder be used around the fibar area in place of the soil berm?

Response: No, timber is not accepted.

Question 8

Posted: 4/6/2020

Question: Can we please see the answer to the questions submitted on 3/31/2020 12:02:14 PM?

Response: Use Playground Area, not Play Area. One playground, not "playgrounds", typo. 40 x 40 is only a suggestion. Question 9

Posted: 4/6/2020

Question: Is it a specific requirement that there is to be a full concrete pad that the PIP surface will go over?

Response: Yes, full concrete pad is required.
