The city is requesting proposals from licensed and qualified contractors to train firefighters in Nationally Registered Basic Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT B) Nationally Registered Advanced Medical Technician (NREMT A), and Nationally Registered Paramedic (NREMT P). Training must meet current state and national standards to prepare students to test for cognitive and skills exams for Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician P A B and qualify for SC State EMT P A B Licensure. This is a grant funded project through a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program. All applicable policies of FEMA, as well as state and federal legal requirements shall apply.

1.         Q.        Is there a specific number of students per class requirement?

A.         We don’t have a specified number ofstudents per class. It is dependent upon the price per student. It is stated inthe RFP on page 6.B.5: “The City of Beaufort Fire Department reserves the rightto limit the number of students and or enroll students in with other agenciesbased on needs of the City of Beaufort Fire Department.”

 

2.         Q.        Do you want a price per student and a minimum number ofstudents per class?

            A.         Yes.

 

3.         Q.        For the paramedic class should we quote price per student toinsert into a class?

            A.         Yes.

 

4.         Q.        And then quote a price for paramedic class of eight students?

            A.         Yes, if you can provide quotes for bothways that would be best.

 

5.         Q.        And you want that (ref. to #3 & 4) for EMTs advanced EMTas well?

            A.         Yes.

 

6.         Q.        Do you have any minimum number of students per class?

            A.         No.

 

7.         Q.        When does the training need to be completed?

            A.         The paramedic training should begin inJanuary to be completed by the end

                        of theyear.  The multiple basic and advanced classescan be run throughout the

                        year.


 

 

8.         Q.        So, you want us to put together a schedule to work with yourschedule and then

                        advise youwhen other classes are available?

Correct. We are on the48/96 schedule so it will have to coincide with that schedule.
