The 2018 One Cent Sales Tax Referendum, also referred to as the Beaufort Penny Referendum, passed November 6, 2018 resulted in a 1% sales tax increase for transportation projects throughout Beaufort County. These projects are US 278 Corridor Traffic Improvements, US 21 Corridor Traffic Improvements, and Sidewalks and Multi-Use Pathways
