Description: Dorchester County, South Carolina invites sealed bids for the resealing of the three parking lots specified below. All parking bumpers shall be removed from the parking lot prior to resurfacing. After the parking lot is resurfaced, parking bumpers shall be reinstalled and the parking lot shall be restriped using waterborne pavement paint. The locations are listed below: • 500 N. Main Street, Summerville, SC 29483 • 212 Deming Way, Summerville, SC 29483 • 201 Johnston Street, St. George, SC 29477 Dorchester County is requesting bids from properly licensed system specific contractors to provide parking lot resurfacings, parking space striping and thermo-coating.

Pre-Bid Meeting Details: There will be a mandatory pre-bid site visit on January 16, 2018. Bidders are asked to meet at 10:00 AM at 500 North Main St, Summerville, SC 2948. The other two sites will be visited from there. Please sign up if you plan to attend the pre-solicitation meeting.

Overview: Due to inclement weather, the dates will need to be changed for this solicitation. The pre-bid site visits will now take place on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at 10:00 AM. The deadline for questions will be Thursday, January 18, 2018. The bid opening will be 2:00 PM on January 23, 2018.

Overview: Below is a list of questions that were received. Please see the attachment for further specifications, as well as an amended bid form that should be included in your bid package. Question 1: With regards to the asphalt patching/paving portion, will you be able to provide a detailed scope of work? Our field measurements of the area are quite different that the one’s discussed. (7400 sf discussed at 4”) Also, will we need to remove the existing pavement? Mill or demo? How many inches of asphalt are intended to be put back? Will you provide the detailed scope for 500 main St location also? Answer 1: Please see the attached specifications. Question 2: With regards to the seal coating, I understand that you are requesting 2 spray coats. Our experience with government agencies, is they require us to squeegee. Normally, we have done 1 squeegee coat and 1 spray coat on top. The Charleston Airport required 1 prime coat then 2 squeegee coats. Answer 2: Apply 2 seal coats as recommended in the attached specification sheet. Question 3: Will you be adding a line item for crack fill, with the units discussed? Answer 3: Apply crack seal to all cracks or joints greater than ¼ inch. Line item has been added.
