Question 1
Posted: 4/19/2022
Question: If it is just going into a cabinet, why are they asking for a minimum frame rate, our panels are static, designed for cabinets, dynamic panels are usually replacing real time units. I guess we need to know if you require a dynamic panel, meaning the parts can be imaged in motion.
Response: UAH uses the system for both 3D imaging and real-time radiography. We do require the ability to detect motion, so we specified frame rate requirements and need the dynamic capability.
Question 2
Posted: 4/20/2022
Question: 1. Can you advise which X-ray source will be used with the panel? As some panels will not integrate with certain X-ray Sources. 2. Is this a new set up or replacement for an current integrated system?
Response: uaH has a GE ERESCO MF4 and plan to receive a Hamamatsu L12161-7 microfocus source. I should also note that compatibility with both sources is preferred. I know from discussions with imaging instrument scientists that the Hamamatsu source and Varex detector are compatible. We are replacing a detector in our system. The current x-ray detector was assembled by North American Imaging, and consists of a Toshiba E5877J-P1K image intensifier optically coupled via a C-mount to a Kappa HiRes3-XR camera. This detector has a limited field of view and maximum radiation dose, so we need a higher dose and larger field of view. Hence we are seeking the Varex detector or one with similar specifications.
