Description: Said bids will be received at Etowah City Hall, 723 Ohio Ave, Etowah, TN 37331, until 2:30 PM EDT on Friday, November 3, 2017 to the attention of: Mrs. Tina Tuggle. Bids will be opened publicly and read aloud immediately after deadline to receive bids. Late bids will not be accepted nor returned. All interested parties are invited to attend. Bidding Documents (including the Contract Documents, Instructions to Bidders and other Bidding Instruments) will be available at Etowah City Hall. All Bidders must be licensed contractors in the State of Tennessee as required by the Contractors Licensing Act of 1976 and related amendments thereto, with all bid submittals conforming to the State of Tennessee requirements. Payment Bond (if using subcontractors) and Performance Bond will be required. The OWNER reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities or technicalities therein. The City of Etowah, TN is currently soliciting bids for the design and construction of a tennis court and basketball court to be constructed at the City Park located between 5th Street and 6th Street on Louisianan Ave. to replace the closed courts. The scope of the project is as follows: 1. Design and Construction of a Tennis Court and Basketball Court on a pad approximately 120 Feet by 120 Feet. 2. The surface that goes into the court should have a compression strength of at least 2,000psi and a slump no more than 4 inches. The slab should be placed at a thickness of at least 4 inches with a minimum of a 4 inch base. Before installing the slab, two layers of 10-mil polyethylene sheeting should be added to serve as a moisture-vapor barrier. 3. For good water runoff the slab will have a minimum slope of 1 inch in 10 feet. The courts should slope as one true plane (rather than being crowned like a road), with the water running in only one direction, such as from side to side, end to end , or corner to corner. The finished surface of the courts should not vary more than 1/8 inch in 10 feet when measured in any direction. 4. The contractor will install new fencing around the courts. 5. The contractor will install a minimum of 2 7/8” Ratchet Post on the Tennis Courts and a minimum of 4 1/2” galvanized steel post with a minimum of 5 foot safety play area on the basketball court. 6. A minimum of a 100% acrylic binder and color pigment will be applied as a final color coat. 7. Contractor will line both courts to appropriate standards using a reflective white acrylic paint with texture. 8. Contractor will provide Alternative A to include relocating the lights from the closed courts to the new courts.


Pre-Bid Meeting Date: 10/24/2017 10:00 AM

Pre-Bid Meeting Details: A pre-bid meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 24th at 10:00 a.m. at the park located at the corner of 6th Street and Indiana Avenue. Bid packets will be distributed at that time and will be available for pick up at City Hall after that date. There will be no other pre-bid tours given.
