Description: The Davie County Manager will receive sealed bids at the Davie County Administration Building (123 S.Main Street, Mocksville, NC 27028) until 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 4, 2018. Each bid will then publicly be opened and read aloud in the County’s 2nd floor Commissioner’s Conference Room. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Replace existing 6” water main in a portion of US Highway 64 east of Mocksville with approximately 5,242 lf of 8” water main with valves, hydrants and existing service connections along the north side of US Hwy 64 from a point west of John Crotts Road to a point east of Bethel Church Road. The project may be awarded only to a contractor properly licensed under Chapter 87 of the General Statutes of North Carolina. A 5% Bid Bond is required with the bid in the form of cash, Certified Check from a bank or trust company insured by the FDIC or Bid Bond. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 90 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The contractor shall comply with the Department of Labor Safety and Health Regulations for construction promulgated under the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 (PL91-596) and under Section 107 of the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act (PL91-54), or latest revisions.
