A.    PURPOSE OF THIS REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

The purpose of the Request for Proposal (RFP) is to solicit sealed proposals to establish a contract through competitive negotiations for the procurement of design and install an expansion of the current fire alarm system in the auditorium of the Walter Gerrells Performing Arts Center (Civic Center).

B.     SCOPE OF PROCUREMENT

Project scope is to design and install an expansion of the current fire alarm system in the civic center auditorium, lobby, lobby restrooms and lobby offices.  Expansion of the current system to include; smoke and heat detection as well as visual and audio alarms.  It should be noted that the auditorium often experiences theatrical smoke from smoke and fog machines.  Therefore the fire alarm system expansion must accommodate for this type of smoke or fog so as not to initiate false alarms.

Final design must be prepared by a qualified NICET Technician and ultimately approved through the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
