Vendors wishing to hand deliver their bids may do so by placing their bids inside the temporary drop box, which can be found in the CITY HALL PARKING LOT LOCATED AT 730 MAINE STREET. HAND DELIVERIES MUST BE PLACED INSIDE THE TEMPORARY DROP BY 10:00 AM ON THE BID DUE DATE, WHICH IS 4/22/20.
Sealed
bids for the Proposed SANITARY MANHOLE REPLACEMENT – 2020 project – Wards 1, 2,
3 & 4 (Project MU 006), in the City of Quincy, Adams County, Illinois,
described herein will be received at the office of the City Clerk, 730 Maine
Street, City Hall, Quincy, Illinois 62301 until 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 22,
2020 and at that time publicly opened and read aloud in the Council Chamber of
the Quincy City Hall.
The
Proposed Project consists of removing manholes, furnishing and installing Type
A Manholes - 4’, removing and installing sewer pipe – 15”, sanitary sewer
services, Class C patches, Type III & Type IV, curb and removal and
replacement; and other miscellaneous construction items at various locations.
All
bids shall be accompanied by either a bid bond on the “Proposal Bid” form
contained in the proposal, executed by a corporate surety company satisfactory
to the City of Quincy, or a bank cashier’s check, or a properly certified check
for not less than 5 percent of the amount bid, or for the amount listed in the
specifications.
The
City Council of Quincy reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to
waive technicalities.
No
bid may be withdrawn after the time for opening of the bids is past.
The
City Council of Quincy reserves the right to determine the qualifications of
any and all contractors to perform the work required under this contract.
The

Bidders
are notified that not less than the prevailing wage rate as determined by the
Illinois Department of Labor shall be paid to all workers performing work under
this contract.
This
project contains the requirement that 50 percent of all workers performing work
under this contract must be residents of Adams County, Illinois.
