County of Escambia Sealed Solicitation
Title: PD 21-22.029 Ortega Subdivision Pond Expansion
Deadline: 3/22/2022 2:30 PM (UTC-06:00) Central Time (US & Canada)
Status: In Review
Solicitation Number: PD 21-22.029
Description: This Project is located with District 3. At the southeast end of Florcita Drive in the Ortega subdivision is a County pond with a visible iron rock layer in the bank, indicating the presence of soils that are not conducive to pond recharge. Ortega residents have complained that, due to major storm events, the pond has backed up into the neighborhood drainage system.
The objective of this project is to provide adequate expansion of the current pond to alleviate street, yard, and home flooding. The contractor will be responsible for obtaining proper demolition permits for an existing structure which must be removed. Significant land clearing will be required, but identified trees will be protected and preserved. Tree mitigation will be included in this project.
